While Putty is like Terminal, Bitvise SSH Client (Well known as Tunnelier) is likeSSH Tunnel Manager.
The following will show you how to connect to SSH tunnels with Bitvise SSH Client on Windows:
I. Download and install Bitvise SSH Client
On the Download page, click the link of "Bitvise SSH Client installer" to download it.
After that, open the downloaded file to install Bitvise SSH Client.
II. Add your SSH tunnel account
Run Bitvise SSH Client, fill the following 4 boxes with your SSH account data:
1. Host
Enter the server host name or IP address .
2. Port
Remember not every server's port is 22.
3. Username
Your account login ID.
4. Password
Remember to choose "password" as "Initial meth" first.
III. Enable proxy forwarding
On the "Services" tab, check the "Enabled" box, and change the value of "Listen Port" from "1080" to "7070".
IV. Connect to your SSH tunnel
Clicking on the "Login" button, if everything is right, you can see a blank black window.
In case that you come across the following "Host Key Verification" window:
Just click on the "Accept and Save" button to close it.
And if you see a "Toterm Error" pop-up window:
You can try to log out and log in again, or just neglect it and use the SSH tunnel anyway.
When the connection is successful, you can change your browser network SOCKS proxy to 127.0.0.1:7070, and use the SSH tunnel to unblock blocked sites.
